Quick Answer
The DC Dice Masters World's Finest Team Box is a budget-friendly entry point into Dice Masters, giving you a Superman and Batman team plus everything you need to start playing right away.
Why This Team Box Is a Strong Starting Point
If you're new to Dice Masters, the World's Finest Team Box offers a focused way to learn the dice building game without assembling a full collection. It includes two iconic characters—Superman and Batman—so you can jump straight into head-to-head play with a friend.
The box is designed for quick setup, making it ideal for a first game or a casual introduction to the Dice Masters system. You won't need additional products to get started, which keeps the learning curve manageable.
What's Inside the Box
The World's Finest Team Box includes the dice and cards needed to field a team of Superman and Batman. While the exact contents can vary by printing, the box is built around the Dice Building Game platform, where you collect dice, build a team, and battle your opponent.
Because the catalog description focuses on the game's design and lineage, it doesn't list every included component. If you need a full inventory, check the product page or the box itself before purchasing.
How the Dice Building Game Works
Dice Masters uses a shared pool of dice that you roll each turn, then spend to field your characters and activate their abilities. The World's Finest Team Box teaches this core loop through the iconic rivalry of Superman and Batman, making the mechanics memorable.
The game was designed by Michael Elliott and Eric M. Lang, who also created Quarriors!, the game that launched the dice building genre. That pedigree means you're learning a proven system that's both accessible and deep.
How to Play Dice Masters with the World's Finest Team Box
- Set Up the Play Area: Unbox the team box and separate the dice and cards for Superman and Batman. Place your character cards in front of you and keep your dice in a shared pool within reach of both players. Ensure both players have equal access to the dice pool; if not, reposition the play area before starting.
- Build Your Starting Team: Each player selects a character (Superman or Batman) and places the corresponding card and dice in their starting area. You can also mix both characters if the box includes enough dice, but for a first game, stick to one character each to simplify. Check that each player has the correct number of dice for their chosen character; missing dice will affect gameplay.
- Roll and Assign Dice: On your turn, roll your dice and assign them to energy or character faces. Energy dice are used to pay costs, while character dice can be fielded to attack or defend. Don't field all your dice at once—save some energy to react to your opponent's moves.
- Attack and Defend: When you attack, choose which of your fielded character dice will attack. Your opponent can block with their own character dice. Compare attack and defense values to determine damage. Remember that blocking dice are removed from the field after combat, so plan your blocks to preserve key characters.
- Win by Reducing Your Opponent's Life to Zero: Each player starts with 20 life. Damage from unblocked attacks reduces life. The first player to reduce the opponent to 0 life wins the game. Track life totals with dice or a notepad; forgetting to update life is a common mistake that can change the outcome.
