Learn what's inside the Fantastic Four Cosmic Clash starter set, who it's for, and how to build your first HeroClix team with clear decision rules.
Quick Answer
If you're new to HeroClix or want a ready-to-play Fantastic Four team, the Marvel HeroClix: Fantastic Four Cosmic Clash Starter Set is a strong pick. It gives you a complete set of iconic figures and the core rules to start playing right away.
What makes this starter set different
The Fantastic Four Cosmic Clash starter set is built around Marvel's First Family and their classic foes. It supports up to four players, so it works for a small gaming group or a family game night. The set includes Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing, and Silver Surfer, giving you a balanced team right out of the box.
Unlike a booster box, a starter set gives you everything you need in one purchase: figures, maps, and rules. That makes it a low-risk way to test HeroClix without assembling a collection first.
How it compares to other starter sets
If you already own another HeroClix starter set, the Fantastic Four Cosmic Clash adds a new theme and a different set of figures. But if you're completely new, any starter set will teach you the same core rules. The main difference is the characters and the specific map and scenarios included.
This set focuses on the Fantastic Four and their rogues' gallery. If you prefer X-Men or Avengers, you might want a set that features those characters instead. The rules are the same, so your choice comes down to which heroes you want to play.
Decision Rules for Buying This Starter Set
- New to HeroClix: If this is your first HeroClix purchase, this starter set is a good entry point because it includes everything you need to play: figures, rules, and a map. Check that the set includes a map and dice before buying.
- Fantastic Four fan: If you specifically want to play as the Fantastic Four or their villains, this set gives you a ready-made team and a thematic starting point.
- Group play: With support for up to four players, this set works well for playing with friends or family. If you usually play one-on-one, you can still use it, but the extra player capacity is a bonus.
- Already have a starter set: If you already own a HeroClix starter set, this one adds new figures but not new rules. Consider whether you want the specific characters before buying. If you only want specific figures, check if they are available individually.
