Learn what the U.S.S. Dauntless expansion pack includes and how to decide if it fits your Star Trek Attack Wing fleet.
Quick answer
The U.S.S. Dauntless expansion pack is a solid choice if you want a pre-painted Star Trek Attack Wing ship with the full FlightPath™ experience, but it won't work with other FlightPath™ games from FFG.
What the expansion pack gives you
This pack includes one pre-painted plastic miniature with base and pegs, a maneuver dial, cards, and tokens. It uses the core rule set of the FlightPath™ game system with a Star Trek twist, so you get a complete ship ready to add to your fleet.
The miniature is pre-painted, which saves you assembly time and lets you start playing right away. The maneuver dial gives you the movement options you need to outfly opponents in battle.
Compatibility limits to know
The pack is not compatible with other FlightPath™ games from FFG. That means you can't mix it with X-Wing or other FlightPath™ titles. If you only play Star Trek Attack Wing, this won't matter, but it's a key trade-off if you were hoping for cross-game flexibility.
Because it uses the core rule set, you'll need the Star Trek Attack Wing core set or starter to have the full rules and dice. The expansion pack alone doesn't include everything needed to play a complete game.
Decision rules for buying
- If you already own the core set: Buy this expansion to add a new ship to your collection. Check that you have the core rulebook and dice before purchasing.
- If you're new to Star Trek Attack Wing: Start with the core set or starter first, then add the Dauntless as your first expansion.
- If you play other FlightPath™ games: Skip this pack because it's not compatible with other FlightPath™ games from FFG. Verify your game system before buying.
